What are the conventions of film openings?

Conventions of the opening scene of The Dark Knight.

The conventions of film openings gives the audience an understanding of how the film was produced and directed/acted in it, what the film is about, the characters, who's good and who's bad.

1.In the opening scene, the fim starts by showing synergy of 'warna.Bros Pictures' which is who the film is produced by.

2. The opening shot shows a building, in gotham city, being zoomed in. This sets the scene and would be linked to the rest of the storyline.

3. The use of masks that the robbers are wearing, still hides the identity of the main villian which is 'The Joker'.

4. The opening music gives this whole scene tension and suspense.

4. The 'Jokers' plan of getting each robber to kill there partner, shows that this villian smart as well as mad.
